At OTH we welcome customers as if we are welcoming people into our own home.
We treat everybody, including each other, with kindness, compassion and respect and most of all we make no judgments.
We use this system to randomly choose who gets served first. Once service starts sticks will be unavailable and any latecomers can still receive kai but at the end of the line. Please note it is one stick per customer. Customers cannot collect for themselves and somebody else. Any issues see the shift supervisor.
Please report any intoxication or behaviour displayed by customers that causes distress or is unsafe for themselves or others immediately to Customer Engagement or the Shift Manager who will address it.
Please remember to use gloves at all times when preparing or handling food. Please use common sense when handing out food. If it looks or smells wrong do not hand it out.
The hall is a shared venue so before we leave we need to ensure that it is left as we found it. There is a cleaning list of tasks to be checked off. Please ensure that all rubbish is disposed appropriately, and the cardboard recycling bin is not overflowing.
Before we go tonight we recommend gathering together for a debrief about today’s service. This will be a chance to discuss any issues, share, have a laugh and unwind.
Lastly please remember we are saving food from the landfill, we are feeding our community and they are grateful. Have a great shift!
Reducing food waste, feeding people who need it, and building community through connection and participation.
