Toolbox Meeting - Customers

For our incredible On The House volunteers!

Welcome to On the House (OTH). Soon we will be starting service but first we will just go over the following for any new people.

  • OTH is a non-judgemental free food service where everyone is welcome
  • Has everyone got a stick? We use these to randomly choose who is served first. Once service starts sticks will be unavailable and any latecomers will still receive kai but at the end of the line. Please note it is one stick per person. You cannot collect for yourself and somebody else.
  • Once your colour is called, please line up calmly at this door to hand over your bags which will be filled by a volunteer. You will then pick your filled bags up at the other entrance. You will be asked for any dietary requirements. If there are items you do not require please leave them in the bins provided so others can use.
  • As we receive food, we make every effort to check items to make sure they are within a safe to eat tolerance. We also receive frozen items that we take in good faith have been frozen on or before the best before date. Once thawed these items cannot be re-frozen and must be consumed within 24 hours. Please use common sense by checking all items you receive before consuming. If it looks, smells or tastes wrong do not consume.
  • We have a duty of care to our customers and our team therefore we do not allow intoxication or bad behaviour at OTH. If this happens, you will be asked politely to leave
  • We have a koha box which you will see inside. A koha is appreciated but is completely voluntary.
  • We have plenty of kai for everyone tonight so please be patient, kind to each other and kind to our volunteers.
  • If you have any questions, queries or complaints, please do not hesitate to speak with one of our Customer Engagement volunteers or myself, the Shift Manager.

We will now draw the first colour…
