We run on 100% volunteer-power! Here’s how you can pitch in.
On The House aims to reduce food waste while feeding hungry people. It’s a brilliantly simple concept.
We are made up of a group of passionate volunteers and that means we are always in need of willing folks (like you!) to help give us a hand.
We are a friendly, supportive group of volunteers who believe everyone has something to contribute.
Tasks involved include food pick-ups by car and on foot, stacking food on shelves, managing shifts, serving food, set up and clean up, soup prep and serve, and community engagement.
After you fill out our sign-up form, we will be in touch to organise your induction date to give you an inside peek at our operations.
If you decide On The House is the right fit for you, we will then get you on the roster to join our awesome crew and perform the tasks you love to do best.
That’s cool. We understand that it feels like a big committment of time and energy. That’s why we do three things to help:
1. We contact you to discuss how you could help
2. We allow you to come and “try it out”
3. We offer behind-the-scenes alternatives to utilise your talents and care.
We are offering a number of dates throughout 2020 for corporate teams to come and join us on a shift. Dates will be assigned to interested parties on a first come, first serve basis.
All shifts are 2:00pm – 6:00pm on a Thursday and are available on the following dates: 2 April, 7 May, 4 June, 2 July, 6 August, 3 September, 1 October, 5 November, 3 December.
If this sounds like something your team would be interested in helping out with, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. We would love to have you on board for a shift!
Please note: Ideally corporate volunteer teams will have between 6-8 people including 3-4 cars + drivers to pick up food.
If you are a larger corporate team and would like to volunteer with us, we can discuss splitting the team for different shifts.
If fundraising for On The House is something you would like to get your team involved with, please get in touch.
