Harvest

Harvesting food from the land to donate to someone’s table, via On The House

Corn Harvest - Tuesday 3 Feb

We have the opportunity to harvest surplus corn from a local grower that will help feed families through our Free Stores and partner organisations and are putting together a volunteer team to help.

We will then be in touch to confirm.   Once confirmed we will be assembling at the Community Food Hub on Tuesday the 3rd of February at 1.15pm for a quick induction before heading out. We will car share where we can and return to the hub by 3.30pm.   Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty and bring sun protection and a water bottle. We’ll provide gloves. Note this involves outdoor physical activity.   We’ll confirm Tuesday morning if weather requires postponement.
