Returning Surplus Food to the Community
On The House is a community group with no religious affiliation. Ours is a space where the New Plymouth community can interact, build relationships, and where our open-hearted volunteers serve surplus food to anyone who can make good use of it.
“The three pillars of On The House are to: reduce food waste, feed people who need it, and to build community through connection and participation”

We want your leftovers, even if they’re ugly!
Is there a one-off event (wedding, funeral, office shout, etc) with surplus food?
Do you have an abundant vege garden? Fruit falling from the tree? Donate it to us and we will give it to those in need.
How can I help?
Big issues like hunger (food poverty) and food waste can be overwhelming to think about. On The House has found a practical way to make a real difference in your community. There are lots of ways to pitch in, from volunteering or donating, to just making some noise about the work we’re doing here!
